Personal Finance

These days, many are still skeptical about getting a life insurance.  For some, it’s just a luxury they can’t afford or even  if they can, it’s not a priority. Or they just don’t care.

Being a personal finance advocate, it is my desire for every Filipino to be financially literate in order to achieve financial independence.  I hope each and every one would soon realize that learning how to manage one’s finances is not just for the rich and famous.

If all of us are financially educated, convincing people to get a suitable life insurance won’t be an issue anymore.

Here's a good resource to start with: www.equote.com.

Medicare Part D

Do we have Medicare Part D plans here in the Philippines? Last year, our company did an orientation about all the health/insurance benefits we were entitled to. Disability and death insurance were tackled, but I don't remember being informed that the insurance also includes the cost of prescription drugs in case of hospitalization.

Hmmm...I guess it's best to consult our HR department regarding this matter. :-)

Medicare Part D is a federal program to subsidize the costs of prescription drugs for Medicare beneficiaries in the United States. It was enacted as part of the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003 (MMA) and went into effect on January 1, 2006. - SOURCE: Wikipedia

Term Life Insurance

There’s probably nothing more secure than having a life insurance.

It gives us the guarantee that whatever happens, you know that the family you’d left behind will have no burden on their shoulders once you’re gone. I know it’s kinda morbid to talk about death and all but life is all about uncertainty. No one knows what’s bound to happen in the future so you might as well be practical and open-minded.

Blessed

My husband and I have already started canvassing for a brand-new car. Our plan is to get one in June coz that's when we'll finish paying for the monthly amortization of our house. Yey! Thank God for this wonderful blessing! Needless to say, we are all very excited!

I've also been asking auto insurance quotes from different companies. I just wanna make sure that we'll be getting the best insurance coverage at the cheapest rate.

On life insurance

Need life insurance?

I know getting one is not easy since there are many things that need to be considered -- like the budget, the insurance coverage and the like. Securing a good life insurance policy can be obtained by doing a lot of research about the company you're getting the insurance from. Obtaining multiple life insurance rates is a good way to start too since you'll have more available options. Or better yet, get a referral from a friend who just purchased an insurance. It will save you time and effort. :)

Shed some light, please!

It's not that I don't believe in life or disability insurance.

I guess the only thing that's probably stopping me from getting one is my "lack of knowledge" regarding the many benefits it can give me and/or my family. You can also say that I'm more concerned of the credibility of the company that I'm getting insurance from if ever. Sometimes I can't help but think, what if the company closed down? Can I still get my money back?

I am totally at a loss. Maybe if someone would be persistent enough to sit down with me and explain this whole insurance thing, I'd probably change my mind. :-)

Be insured

I must admit, looking for the best and cheapest car insurance coverage is not a piece of cake. There are many things that you need to take into consideration. And one of which is your BUDGET. How much are you capable of paying? Would you rather pay more as long as you get good coverage? Or you'd rather get the lowest price available no matter what?

Remember that what other people think at this point doesn't matter. Simply because what 's important to you may be ridiculous for somebody else. So it's up to you to decide. After all, you're the one buying the insurance, not them.

Life insurance

For me, having a life insurance is a necessity since we can never be certain when accidents happen. It’s one of the best ways to make sure that whatever happens to us in the future, our children will be protected and will get something to start their lives with. But unfortunately, due to poverty, not many people consider obtaining an insurance.
