I’ve had asthma since I was a kid and would often experience consistent attacks every December to January. Maybe because these months are the coldest here in my country.
When I was young, I feel sorry that the Philippines had no winter season. I thought it would’ve been fun to play in the snow, to ski, to throw snow balls with my playmates and such. Then I was told by my Korean student (when I was still teaching at an English Center) that winter is a very difficult season since winter clothes are quite expensive and uncomfortable to wear. Not only that, they need to use a heater and an electric blanket at home in order to survive too.
So how could an asthmatic human being like me live there normally? It must have been extremely difficult.
After our conversation, I have come to realize that he’s right for saying that I was lucky to live in a tropical country where there is no winter season.
